Chinese Teacher Development Day: Manchester 5 November, 2016

Saturday 5 November, 2016 | 10.00am (registration, first session at 10.20) – 4.15pm

This FREE one-day workshop is suitable for teachers of Chinese who are working in secondary, university or adult learning environments. Over three 90 minute sessions, our professional teacher-trainers will cover a range of practical activities and strategies for teaching grammar, managing classrooms effectively, and dealing with post-beginner anxiety in the Chinese language classroom.

This event is suitable for teachers working in secondary, university, or adult education environments; it is jointly sponsored by Macmillan Education, FLTRP and the Confucius Institute at the University of Manchester.

Session 1: Approaches to Grammar, Huang Dian – University of Westminster

Session 2: Classroom Management, Helen Day – Freelance Trainer

Session 3: Overcoming Post-beginners’ Anxiety: Challenges and Strategies, Dr. Zhu Zhu – University of Edinburgh

There will be a final short session on Discover China – a four level course for Mandarin published by Macmillan Education and the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press (FLTRP).
